Install and Service Backup Generators

Reliable Backup Power for your Home or Office

As a Generac Authorized dealer, DHHS brings you peace of mind with a full line of reliable Generac products, backed by world-class service and support, to help ensure reliable operation for a lifetime. Whether you want and emergency power system to backup your entire home or business, or just the most essential circuits, we have the solution.

What to expect when buying a generator from DHHS

1. Site visit – We come and gather information to properly size the generator for your home or office. We will make sure that there are no confliction of doors, windows or combustible structures in the way. At this stage we also will normally provide you with an estimate unless additional information is needed.

2. Permitting – The permitting process can be quick, or it may take several weeks depending on the county or municipality where the install is to occur. Once we have all the information from you it can take up to 5 weeks to get an approved permit back. Items we need you, as the owner, to supply is a copy of your site plan. Usually you can find this with the paperwork from the title co. that did the closing on your house. If that cannot be found, we can draw a site plan of your property for the permit. Second you will need to sign and notarize a notice of commencement to be recorded at the county office. In order to avoid delaying the process, please locate your site plan upon approving the estimate.

3. Scheduling – Upon permit approval we will contact you to schedule a date for installation. By this time, we would have helped you get in contact with a local gas company (we work with many across the state) that will install and hook up the gas for you. We have you, as the owner, contract directly with the gas company because they will be the one servicing or refueling your tank. We will coordinate the install with the gas company, so they connect the gas promptly after we set and wire the generator.

4. Install Day – You, or an adult will need to be home. The crew will arrive in the morning and locate the placement of the generator on the site plan. They will verify that there are no confliction of doors, windows or combustible structures in the way. Once that is complete, they will go over the wiring with you, so you are aware of where there is going to be buried lines on your property. The power to the house will need to be interrupted for a few hours in order to install. If you are home the team will give you notice prior to shutting down the power so you may turn off sensitive electronics. The install process usually can be completed in one day, but some instances may require a second day. If a second day is needed, no worries, your power will be restored before we leave on the first day.

5. Orientation – After the install is completed, we will come out and go over, in detail, how the generator will work when there is a power outage. We will also answer any remaining questions you may have about the project, the generator, its maintenance, or operation.

6. Final Inspection – One final inspection is required on all generator installations and would be arranged by our office. The homeowner, or an adult, would have to be home to provide access for the inspector to complete their inspection.

AMAZING SERVICE!!!! I have used DHHS many times in the past and have always been extremely happy with their service.
Today I had an issue with a door knob handle that was REALLY stuck and couldn’t get into my house from the garage. (It wasn’t a locksmith issue.) Andy not only tried to trouble shoot this with me over the phone by walking me thru steps to see if I could resolve it, but when I couldn’t do it myself he made a special trip to help me. I was beyond impressed and so very thankful for helping in a pinch. I know that they are booked solid for weeks, and appreciate the time you gave to help.

A huge shout out to the office girls too. They all went above and beyond to help me. I wish all companies were like this. Thank you Thank you!!

I came upon DHHS through a neighbor of mine. I needed various repairs done on my home including plumbing, electrical and outside wood work repairs. All of the workers involved did a great job on the to do list that was presented to them. They were on-time, the work was done to my satisfaction and they left the place clean as if nobody was ever here. I am actually having them work on another project and have recommended to friends. If you need any work done around your home, give DHHS a call. I was very pleased with them.

Finding an off the grid solar installer can be difficult

Finding an off the grid solar installer can be difficult, especially when our project was a remote Florida location with access via 15 miles of dirt logging roads! Having previously relied upon Dave Curtin [DHHS] and his team for installation of our Generac home standby generator, we decided to discuss our dilemma and plans: we needed site prep and wiring/hookup of components we’d purchased with advice from a solar consultant; installation of six solar PV panels on a double pole ground mounting system, an Outback Inverter, a bank of 16 AGM lead acid batteries/cables, and a 20Kw Kohler propane powered generator as backup for grey days, all to support the 5 Kw daily power needs of our small recreational cabin.

The cabin is situated in a hunting preserve on a family compound with other dwellings. Since our small 12 x34 cabin has all the comforts of home, A/C, an AC refrigerator, microwave, washer w/propane dryer, propane stove, we planned to judiciously manage our electrical load and minimize use of the generator. On cloudy grey days, I might opt for using the French Press for coffee making and grilling pancakes on stove, whereas sunny days are optimum for outdoors Sun Oven baking, and for clothes washing, waffles and making ice cream!

With a positive “can-do” attitude, Dave first met with us on site to tour the location and began to familiarize himself with the scope of the work. He was never dissuaded by the distance, and we offered him room and board in the compound to minimize his commute. Dave, a true professional and quick study, emerged himself in the project and to his credit, the system is fully operational. He pulled together a team who made the project successful as planned, but even better than first envisioned!

Dave Curtin excels in trouble shooting and as a certified electrician, building inspector and general contractor, he is multi skilled, proficient and fully capable with a broad range of expertise. Even while working, he’d observe items that might need attention and repair them, such as a leaky PVC pipe leading to the water pressure tank and filtration systems.

Dave is the consummate professional, geared to a quality outcome. We’d highly recommend Dave for his solar installation acumen now added to his other credentials. I have little doubt his work would be just as sound and solid for grid-tied solar systems as what we experienced with our off the grid solar installation project, and would not hesitate to recommend him for generator installation and servicing or major or minor home repairs.
